Oz/McCormick Race - Did Someone Make a Deal?

On Friday, June 3rd just a few hours after the court set a date to hear David McCormick’s case for a hand recount, the former hedge fund CEO conceded the race to Dr. Mehmet Oz.

The question I have is, why?

It seems like odd timing to concede the race given that the McCormick campaign spent thousands of dollars challenging the razor thin margin win of the US Senate seat, and after getting what looked like a win with the court date set for hand recounts, why the sudden concession? Did someone strike a deal?
