Today is Election Day.

And while millions of Americans are heading to the polls, I’ve been thinking about something a little different.

A whiteboard.

Last week I found myself giving my three daughters an impromptu civics lesson. Not because I had some beautifully organized homeschool lesson planned.

Nope.

Because even my KIDS couldn’t escape the political ads.

There they were, innocently watching videos on their tablets, getting bombarded with messages about which politicians were going to save Pennsylvania and which ones were apparently responsible for everything wrong with the Commonwealth.

And yes, my children occasionally watch YouTube.

But sometimes a mom just needs 20 minutes without being interrupted 47 times. Can I get an amen?

Anyway, the commercials started generating questions.

And when my kids ask questions about government, there’s a very real possibility they’re about to get a history lesson they didn’t ask for.

Out came the whiteboard…
