History Was Never Meant to Be Boring
And how a fascinating series inspired a new way to experience America’s story
When most of us think back to how we learned history, we remember textbooks, timelines, and tests.
Dates to memorize. Names to recall. Facts to repeat.
But history was never meant to be experienced that way.
History was meant to be explored.
Years ago, the Green family filmed a fascinating reality series called Chasing American Legends. Instead of sitting in a classroom, they traveled the country together — parents and kids — visiting historic sites and uncovering the real stories behind them. Their youngest child was only nine years old at the time, yet the entire family was fully engaged in discovering the people and principles that shaped America.
And that’s what struck me most when I watched it:
History comes alive when you encounter it, not just when you read about it.
You see the places.
You hear the stories.
You connect the dots.
And suddenly history isn’t distant anymore. It’s real. It’s human. It matters.
That’s exactly why I decided to build a 4-week class around this series.
Introducing: Chasing American Legends
Beginning March 9, I’ll be guiding a live class where we’ll walk through these stories together — pausing along the way to dig deeper into what happened, why it mattered, and what it means for us today.
This isn’t just a history class.
It’s a guided journey through the moments and people that shaped our nation, using storytelling, discussion, and exploration rather than memorization and lectures.
It’s thoughtful.
It’s eye-opening.
And yes — it’s genuinely enjoyable.
Because when history is taught the way it was meant to be experienced, curiosity replaces boredom and understanding replaces memorization.
📅 Starts: March 9
🕗 Time: Mondays, 8:00–9:30 PM
🗓 Length: 4 weeks
Registration is open now.
If you’ve ever wanted to experience history in a way that actually makes it come alive, I’d love to have you join me.
