Politics, Neighborliness, and the Legacy We Carry Forward
Yesterday I was deeply moved by what I can only call a memorial service for the ages—remembering and honoring the life of Charlie Kirk. It wasn’t just a time of grief; it was a reminder of legacy. Charlie and Turning Point are helping reshape the way we think about politics… not as something that only happens in Washington or on cable news, but as something much more practical: how we live together, how we treat our neighbors, and what we stand for when it matters most.
Over the past five years, so much of my own life has been wrapped up in the political trenches—a space that can be both exhilarating and exhausting at the same time. As I look back, whether it’s through picture collages that pop up on my phone or “anniversary” reminders from before 2020, one conclusion rises to the surface again and again:
The greatest challenge we face isn’t just massive corruption, bad government policy, or even dishonest politicians.
It’s apathy.
